Course Description
Course Profile
Visual Arts is a major provided on the first and second level of higher education based on comprehensive artistic education in the field of Visual Arts, which results in gaining knowledge, abilities and social skills in the field of using varying art media, including artistic expressions. The program consists of:
• courses in the field of theory and history of art, contemporary art, animation of visual culture, which serve the purpose of gaining a broader cognitive perspective
• development of creative attitude, artists being open to new challenges and taking various roles related to functioning in a society as a creator
• courses in the field of fine arts like painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture
• courses in the field of multimedia, intermedia, photography and film
• optional courses in the field of new media such as digital arts and digital animation, as well as publication such as poster design, illustration, typography.
Learning outcomes:
• students’ intensive preparation for individual, creative work in the field of visual arts based on learning outcomes considering student’s individual interests
• development of the ability to independent explorations of new forms, means of expression and media, allow the use of interdisciplinary contemporary and future language
• development of the ability to use of traditional and modern artistic media
• gaining general, theoretical art history and modern art knowledge
• students’ preparation for participation in regional, country and international cultural and artistic life.
The recruitment process for 2nd degree studies of graduates from the disciplines of Visual Arts and Conservation of Works of Art includes a graduation competition. The admissions process for second-degree
studies of graduates from other disciplines consists of assessing artistic aptitude, including reviewing a portfolio of previously prepared artworks (the portfolio of artworks should include drawings and painting studies of still life, architectural objects, landscape, human figure, and human figure). For candidates for English-language studies who do not have the relevant language certificates (listed in the
applicable recruitment resolution), there is an additional interview in English on interests and motivations related to taking
up art studies.
GRADUATE PROFILE
The graduate of the second-degree program is fully qualified to use a variety of visual arts media, combining them for the needs of vario-
us cultural and artistic initiatives, including curatorial projects of their authorship or other forms of promotion and dissemination of visual culture in the broadest sense. He is also a designer specializing in his chosen field textile design or games and animation. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge, skills, and social competence involving using forms of expression characteristic of the visual arts, classical and contemporary, freely combining them to realize complex visual messages. A second-degree program graduate is prepared for independent artistic or professional activity and to undertake further training at the Doctoral School.

Step 3 Attach to your recruitment account:
• a digital copy of BA or MA graduation diploma in visual arts or equivalent (admission to the program is based on finale grade from the diploma)
• a digital copy of a document confirming English language proficiency, if high school/secondary school education wasn’t conducted in English (Cambridge English First- FCF, IELT 5-6.5, TOEFL iBT 87-105)
• 1 colour digital photograph in jpg format, 2cm x 2.5cm (236 x 295 pixels)
Step 4 Pay the application fee in the amount of 150 PLN (non-refundable administrative fee) to the account number from the recruitment account and send confirmation of payment by e-mail: rekrutacjaws@ujk.edu.pl.
Step 5 (this step applies to candidates without an English language certificate) an interview to test your ability to communicate in English conducted by Skype
