Poznan University of Technology (PUT) is the leading technical university in the Wielkopolska region and one of the most prestigious universities of technology in Poland. Recognized for academic excellence and innovation, PUT consistently attracts top-performing candidates – ranking as the third most frequently chosen university in the country, with up to seven applicants competing for each place. Poznan University of Technology arose from the State Higher School of Mechanical Engineering, which was founded in 1919. PUT boasts a century of experience in educating highly qualified engineers and researchers in many areas.
One of the advantages of Poznań University of Technology is the location of the Warta Campus, which is situated in the city centre, in the picturesque valley of the Warta River, and is well connected to the other parts of the city. The university provides accommodation for its students in six dormitories. There is also a canteen, student clubs, a sports hall, a student radio station, a library and sports fields, with bicycle paths and recreational areas running along the Warta River.

Leader of European University
EUNICE European University is a strategic alliance of ten public universities established in 2020 within the European Universities Initiative of the European Commission. Its ambition is to function as one integrated European university, offering innovative, flexible and internationally connected education that responds to both global challenges and regional needs. A central role in EUNICE is played by Poznan University of Technology, the only Polish public university coordinating a European University alliance.

Education within EUNICE is built around interdisciplinary cooperation, digital and blended learning, and close links with research, innovation and local ecosystems. Students benefit from a wide portfolio of joint educational opportunities, including blended and intensive programmes, short international courses, micro-credentials, virtual mobility and project-based learning developed with European partners. These formats provide international experience, transferable skills and a strong European dimension – key assets in today’s global labour market.
Science for the people
The Wielkopolskie voivodeship, and Poznan in particular, offers enormous perspectives. Companies set up their business there, and, as a result, Poznan boasts the lowest unemployment rate in the country - only 1,3%. At present there are approximately 100,000 active businesses in the city.
Poznan University of Technology is a place where students can gain experience closely related to the realities of the labor market. They are educated in accordance with the changing requirements of business and industry. The dual study program was developed in cooperation with companies such as Volkswagen Poznan, AMPIO Sp. z o.o., Flexlink Systems Polska, Gestamp Polska, IKEA Industry Poland Sp. z o.o. Robtech, Solaris Bus & Coach S. A., Modertrans.
As part of this program, students can obtain an education in line with the requirements and expectations of the labor market, participate in additional training courses or obtain language certificates, and above all, it is a study program in which theory is closely linked to practice in the best companies. Students who have completed the dual study program usually find employment in companies participating in the program.
International cooperation
Poznan University of Technology is strongly committed to building a global academic network that opens real international opportunities for both students and researchers. Through its extensive partnerships, PUT enables study and teaching mobility, joint research projects, and long-term academic collaboration. The university has signed over 450 bilateral agreements within the Erasmus+ framework in Europe and beyond, as well as more than 130 memorandums of understanding and exchange agreements with universities worldwide. In addition, PUT offers double degree agreements, allowing graduates to obtain diplomas from both PUT and a foreign partner university, significantly enhancing their competitiveness on the international labour market.
Students' life
Students can pursue their interests in over 92 research societies and 14 student organisations, winning awards at both national and international level! There is also a student radio station Radio Afera, a students' TV station Spacja TV, the university choir „Volantes Soni”, the folk dance group „Poligrodzianie”, etc.
Every month there is a meeting called „PUT around the world – Intercultural Cafe” where Polish and International students, as well as employees, present their home countries according to different topics. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends, expand awareness about other cultures with a cup of coffee and in a friendly atmosphere.
The events organized by students are university students” festival – Juvenalia, concerts, Robots Sumo competition, Wielkopolska Championship in Team Programming. PUT also has 40 sporting clubs where nearly 1200 students exercise regularly. The PUT Sports Centre has facilities for tennis, bowling, spinning, field hockey, indoor rowing, squash as well as gyms.
