DESCRIPTION 

The Biotechnology programs at Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce, comprising of the first and second cycles, provide a comprehensive and dynamic educational experience. Graduates are equipped with advanced knowledge and skills in the fascinating field of biotechnology. The programs have a strong foundation in mathematical and natural sciences, preparing students to excel in their professional careers and contribute to cutting-edge research. By combining theoretical and practical coursework, students acquire a comprehensive understanding of various biotechnology topics. Graduates have the skills to develop and execute biotechnological processes, using the latest experimental biology techniques. They are also well-equipped to collaborate with experts from related fields, promoting a multidisciplinary approach.

Throughout their studies, students are encouraged to uphold ethical principles and comply with legal regulations to ensure the responsible application of their knowledge and skills. Additionally, they develop proficiency in a foreign language, achieving a B2 level (Bachelor’s studies) and B2+ level (Master’s studies). They are also adept at utilizing specialized language within the field of biotechnology. These language skills are essential for accessing the most up-to-date scientific information and pursuing ongoing self-improvement.

RECRUITMENT 

Recruitment for Bachelor's degree studies is determined by the results of the Matriculation Examination (basic level points x1 or extended level points x2) in Biology (45%) and Mathematics (10%),, as well as a subject of one's choice: Chemistry, Physics or Physics with Astronomy with a weight of 45%. To be eligible for enrolment, candidates must earn a minimum of 20 points.

After graduation, our students are well-prepared for exciting career opportunities in the biotechnology industry and related sectors, including food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. They can excel in various roles within industrial, technological, analytical, and research laboratories that work with biological and environmental materials. Our graduates possess advanced research and analytical skills, supported by state-of-the-art equipment in fields such as physics, chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology. They are also adept at utilizing information and bioinformatics techniques, keeping up with the latest technological advancements.

Education Requirements

Printout of the personal questionnaire (the candidate confirms the accuracy of the data contained in the questionnaire with his/her own signature);

•  A photocopy of the secondary school leaving certificate (together with the original to be presented to the University for certification) entitling to apply for studies in the country of origin together with a translation into Polish;

•  A photocopy of an apostille or legalization of a foreign secondary school graduation certificate for candidates from countries that have not acceded to the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961 (Journal of Laws of 2005, No. 112, item 938) with a translation into Polish (along with the original to be presented for certification by the University);

•  A photocopy of a document granting status entitling to study without paying fees (along with the original to be inspected, to be certified by the University); 

confirmation of the use of temporary protection - crossing the border of the Republic of Poland with Ukraine after 24.02.2022 by a citizen of Ukraine, or the spouse of the citizen of Ukraine who does not have Ukrainian citizenship,

a document confirming the use of temporary protection in the territory of the Republic of Poland,

a document confirming the use of subsidiary protection on the territory of the Republic of Poland,

Pole's card

decision on determination of Polish origin,

permanent resident card,

long-term resident of the European Union,

temporary residence card in connection with the circumstances referred to in Article 159, Section 1 of the Act on Foreigners (the decision on granting the permit must specify this provision - attach a scan of the decision),

a temporary residence card in connection with circumstances referred to in Article 186, Section 1, point 3 or 4 of the Act on Foreigners (this provision must be indicated on the decision granting the permit - attach a scan of the decision),

a certificate attesting knowledge of Polish as a foreign language at least at the level of language proficiency C1. The authorization document is only a certificate issued by the State Commission for Certification of Knowledge of Polish as a Foreign Language.

•  Confirmation of knowledge of the Polish language for studies conducted in Polish: 

certificate of proficiency in Polish issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language, or

a document confirming the completion of a one-year preparatory course for taking up studies in Polish in units designated by the minister responsible for higher education, or

confirmation of the knowledge of the Polish language issued by the Commission for the Knowledge of the Polish Language appointed by the Rector on the basis of separate regulations.

•  Confirmation of English language proficiency for studies conducted in English.

•  1 colour photograph in electronic version - jpg, 2cm x 2. 5cm, 236 x 295 pixels - via registration form;

•  1 paper photograph in accordance with the requirements used for issuing identity cards (the same as the digital photograph attached to the online registration form)

•  A photocopy of a sickness or accident insurance policy for the period of the first year of study in the Republic of Poland, or a European Health Insurance Card or a declaration of voluntary enrollment in the National Health Fund immediately after the start of study.

•  Student House Application Form;

•  Tie folder A4 - white;
