Course Description
Course Profile
Collegium Medicine offers education in the field of Medicine in English language. The program is taught exclusively in English and consists of 6 years (12 semesters). Upon completion their studies, students receive a diploma and are awarded internationally recognized titles of Lekarz (equivalents of MD) respectively. They obtain the right to practice as a doctor, entitling them to work both in public and non-public health care facilities, research and academic centers as well as institutions dealing with counseling and dissemination of knowledge in the field of health education and clinics of medical universities. Completing studies allows to improve qualifications, knowledge and skills within medical specializations as well as supplementary and further education courses in various medical fields.
RECRUITMENT
Recruitment is carried out on the basis of the results of the secondary school-leaving examinations in biology or chemistry and mathematics or physics. Additionally, English competency written and spoken must be confirmed by the respective certificates if the secondary education was not conducted in English.
GRADUATE PROFILE
After graduation, our students have knowledge of basic medical sciences relating to the structure and functioning of the human body, constituting the basis for medical activities in health and disease. Graduates have knowledge and practical skills in independently performing professional tasks in the field of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Additionally, they are able to effectively provide first aid help, recognize life-threatening conditions and undertake appropriate medical interventions. They have got the ability to carry out analysis and synthesis processes in assessing the functioning of the human body, constituting the basis for medical activities in health and disease, they are able to establish and maintain ethically, socially and legally desirable relationships with the patient, in their own professional group and with cooperating people.
Education Requirements
In order to be considered for acceptance, applicants must be above 18 years old and demonstrate the results of the following subjects on the high school diploma:
• one subject of choice: Biology (Higher or Standard Level) or Chemistry (Higher or Standard Level)
and
• one subject of choice: Physics (minimum Standard Level) or Mathematics (minimum Standard Level)
An official high school final examination certificate or other certificate qualifying to apply for a university course must be certified with an affixed apostille- in the case of documents issued in the countries that are party to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.
Candidates will be chosen by an open competition on the basis of grades on the high school certificate (transcript of grades). A document confirming knowledge of the English language at B2 level CEFR (e.g. English knowledge certificate, grade on high school leaving certificate).
