Course Description

Course Profile

The graduate has knowledge, skills and competences in the field of general biology issues, based on the foundations of exact and natural sciences; knows and understands basic biological phenomena and processes at various levels of matter organization. Scientific cognition is based on evolution as the overarching concept of biology explaining the unity and diversity of life. Recognizes forms of biodiversity at the genetic, species and ecosystem levels. Uses basic methods and research techniques used in environmental and molecular biology and uses them in designing experiments. The graduate finds application of scientific knowledge in various areas of life. Has practical skills in a wide range of laboratory work, diagnosis and monitoring of the state of the environment, planning nature protection at both the molecular and environmental research levels. The graduate is prepared to deepen knowledge and skills at the Master's degree in biological sciences.

Education Requirements

A certified copy of secondary school leaving certificate (with apostille or legalization),  with a clause proving the right to apply for admission to higher education institution in the country where the certificate was issued or other document recognized as equivalent to the Polish general certificate of secondary education. This does not apply to certificates recognized under international agreements. The document should be translated be a sworn translator or a consul.
