Course Description
Course Profile
The Environmental Engineering degree programme is aimed at technically interested candidates who wish to acquire professional knowledge and skills in the field of planning, construction, operation and evaluation of the operation of equipment and technical installations for the creation of technical infrastructure systems in the following areas: Water supply and wastewater disposal, water and wastewater treatment plants, sludge and waste disposal, urban cleaning, central heating systems, ventilation and air conditioning.
The degree program focuses on the production of bioenergy and biotechnological processes in environmental engineering, water and wastewater treatment, land reclamation, waste management and air pollution control and includes a basic knowledge in the field of quality assessment, management and law in environmental protection in a national and international perspective.
Graduates are prepared to operate technical facilities and technical infrastructure systems in the areas of water supply and wastewater disposal, water and wastewater treatment, sewage sludge processing, waste management and air purification and to assess their efficiency. They are employed in municipal companies, in construction and installation companies, in the operation and technical service of industrial plants (operation of plants, networks and installations in water, wastewater, sludge and waste management), in state and local administrations, as well as in sanitary supervision. Graduates can gain qualifications in hydrological studies and a range of construction licenses in heating, ventilation, gas, water and sewerage installations, networks and equipment (for construction or design without restrictions).
