Course Description
Course Profile
Architecture studies allows to develop a spatial imagination and prepares for designing on high complex degree architectural objects and urban concepts. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills thanks to major courses such as: Architectural Design in Downtown Context, Architectural Design of Public Building, Design of Central Urban Areas, Integration of design processes – BIM and many others. An important element of education are modules related to the conservation of monuments and the revitalization and rehabilitation of the urban environment. These issues have been a strong point of the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, TUL for many years.
The student will acquire knowledge on how to interact with specialists from other technical, humanistic and artistic fields in design work, as well as the ability to manage the executive process in the field of architecture, urban planning and interior architecture. He (she) will be able to use his (her) knowledge and skills in the design of both new and adapted objects. Art classes will allow student to develop sensitivity for color, composition, proportions and the play of light. The studies will give an opportunity to get acquainted with theoretical issues thanks to seminar modules, closely related to scientific research conducted at the Faculty and at the Institute. The course: Methodology of scientific work will prepare for conducting scientific research in the discipline of architecture and urban planning. From 2019/2020, projects are accompanied by scientific-research and specialist seminars.
Graduate profile:
The graduates are prepared to work in the construction and architectural industry in the country and abroad. They can undertake professional work in an architectural office and professional activities in the field of architectural and urban design. They can plan career development in construction and construction supervision as well as in the industry related to interior architecture. Architecture graduates are prepared to cooperate with specialists from other fields: technical, humanities and artistic.
Graduates may apply, after completing a professional internship, for the right to perform independent functions in construction to an unlimited extent, in the architectural speciality. They are also prepared to undertake 3rd degree studies.
Education Requirements
Candidates have to hold a legalized secondary school certificate or another foreign document that entitles one to continue education at the university level.
