Course Description

Course Profile

The Computer Science (CS) course at KUE is the result of the search for an engaging and effective combination of knowledge and skills useful in the society and economy of the 21st century. CS is a combination of IT knowledge with specialized domain knowledge. Students learn the structure and principles of operation of computer systems, programming, databases, operating systems, computer networks and the design of information systems. They also gain knowledge in the field of management, entrepreneurship and law. Thanks to this, they have a good understanding of the reality of the economy, which is important when designing and implementing IT systems supporting business activities, as well as when developing software for advanced computer applications. As a result of the above assumptions, the course has the value of interdisciplinarity, which should be an additional advantage for graduates applying for jobs in various types of organizations and enterprises.

Education Requirements

Enrollment for the first-cycle (BA) programmes is carried out on the basis of graduation (foreign certificates can be recognized by law or on the basis of a relevant international agrement or the decision of recognition issued by the Board of Education in Poland).

Admission is based on the grades obtained at the secondary school-leaving examination, and the qualification procedure includes two following subjects: (table with subjects).

For each subject considered in the qualification procedure a candidate can receive a maximum of 100 points. The total number of points received is 200.
